46,763 Makati students receive hygiene kits
A total of 46,763 students in 23 public elementary schools in Makati City received free hygiene and dental kits from the local government.
The kits contain toothbrushes, toothpastes, soaps, face towels, and combs.
Mayor Abigail Binay, who led the distribution, recently reiterated to students the salience of good personal hygiene to ensure they stay strong and healthy to be able to do good in their studies.
“First, wash your hands frequently. Sec- ond, brush your teeth regularly. Third, take a bath every day. Because health is wealth. It is easier to be clean than to be sick,” Binay told students in Filipino after distributing the kits.
The mayor said that she wants all students of Makati to look presentable at all times as she treats them as her own children.
Next school year, she said, the local government will be distributing free socks to students.
Mayor Binay also told students that she will be back to distribute the promised raincoats and rain boots to students sometime this November. She also revealed plans to go back again to distribute anti-dengue kits in December and the much-anticipated new rubber shoes this coming January.
With the mayor during the distribution were Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo, and Rep. Luis Campos.
