Toward Mazars 2020: People development and digital transformation
Mazars, an international audit and consulting firm from Europe, continues its sustainable growth by creating shared value through its global network. Established in 1945, Mazars has grown to become a EUR 1.7-billion firm with 320 offices and an aim to expand to 88 integrated countries and territories by the end of 2018.
In Asia-Pacific, the company has already surpassed its expected growth within the past three years, establishing 48 offices in 14 countries including the Philippines.
"The Asia-Pacific region has been important to us over the last ten years and we continue to build on that," said Philippe Castagnac, Chairman of the Mazars Group. It is true to say that probably Africa could be a significant part of growth due to the evolution of African economies and the needs in that part of the world. But when we speak about Asia, it is amazing in terms of size and power. The United States is also a very fast moving economy right now. We can imagine that in five to 10 years to come, we will develop a lot in Asia, Africa, and the United States."
In the Philippines, after the establishment of a partnership with a local firm in 2010, Mazars has become fully integrated in 2015 and welcomed Yu Villar and Tadeja Co in 2016 as an official member firm. Part of the local office's array of services includes audit, tax, accounting, and outsourcing services, collaborating with a wide portfolio of clients ranging from manufacturing to renewable energy industries. Global clients comprise of Regus, Parexel, Foseco, and Ingenico, whereas regional clients include Agoda, Delfingen, and FirstSolar.
"The unique aspect of our firm is that we are given access to unlimited tools, with our international network through a cross-media framework with our own stakeholders," said Jacqueline Villar, Managing Partner of Mazars Philippines.
Mazars's presence in the Philippines through a local member firm has opened a new door of opportunity for Filipinos who have a background in the fields of accounting and auditing. Mazars recognizes the rich talent pool in the country.
"There is a lot of managers and senior managers who are Filipinos in other countries where Mazars is present," said Villar. "We have an internship program and we have already partnered with some schools. We are doing some more partnerships with other universities, so we can have regular interns in our office and have incoming graduates whom we can absorb and train eventually. One of the universities is Lyceum."
