Husband surrenders after killing of wife, mom-in-law in CamSur

CAMP OLA, Albay — The suspect in the killing of a 40-year-old woman and her 80-year-old mother in Bula, Camarines Sur last Monday night surrendere­d to police in Daraga, this province, last Thursday afternoon.

Senior Inspector Mayvell Gonzales, spokespers­on of Albay Police Provincial Office (PPO), identified the suspect as Joey Cariaga, of Zone 1, Barangay Sagrada in Bula.

Gonzales said that the suspect was the husband of the fatality, Noemi Antioquia-Cariaga, and son-in-law of the other victim Flerencia SoretaAtio­quia.

The suspect was accompanie­d by lawyer Felix Brazil in his surrender to Daraga Municipal Police Station (MPS) at 3 p.m. last Thursday.

Investigat­ors said both victims were hit with a blunt object in the head, causing their deaths.
