NPAs surrender

BUTUAN CITY – Two alleged New People’s Army (NPA) commanders and nine other guerilla rebels recently surrendere­d to field units of the Army’s 25th Infantry Battallion (25th IB) in Compostela Valley (ComVal) province, according to Capt. Jerry S. Lamosao, spokespers­on of the Army’s Southern Mindanao 10th Infantry (Agila) Division (10th ID). In a phone interview with The Manila Bulletin on Saturday, Lamosao disclosed that those who surrendere­d belonged to the downgraded NPA’s Guerilla Front 33 (GF 33). Identities of the two guerilla commanders and the nine other NPA rebels were temporaril­y withheld for their safety and security. Lamosao said they yielded last week in undisclose­d area in Monkayo town last week, and also turned in their firearms and other explosive devices. (Mike U. Crismundo)
