NPAs surrender
BUTUAN CITY – Two alleged New People’s Army (NPA) commanders and nine other guerilla rebels recently surrendered to field units of the Army’s 25th Infantry Battallion (25th IB) in Compostela Valley (ComVal) province, according to Capt. Jerry S. Lamosao, spokesperson of the Army’s Southern Mindanao 10th Infantry (Agila) Division (10th ID). In a phone interview with The Manila Bulletin on Saturday, Lamosao disclosed that those who surrendered belonged to the downgraded NPA’s Guerilla Front 33 (GF 33). Identities of the two guerilla commanders and the nine other NPA rebels were temporarily withheld for their safety and security. Lamosao said they yielded last week in undisclosed area in Monkayo town last week, and also turned in their firearms and other explosive devices. (Mike U. Crismundo)
