R1.8-billion
BUTUAN CITY – This city’s R1.8-billion budget for 2019 was approved by the city council recently.
The next year’s budget was unanimously approved last November 29 by the Sangguniang Panglungsod (SP) members who consider the budget as responsive to the needs of this fast-rising and growing city in Northeastern Mindanao or Caraga region.
The proposed budget was immediately endorsed to Butuan City Mayor Ronnie Vicente C. Lagnada for approval.
Included in the proposed budget are more infrastructure projects, concreting of roads going to the other rural barangays, government buildings and human resource program including farming, health, environment and education programs.
These proposed budgets for 2019 will also support some national funding being assisted by Agusan del Norte and First District Rep. Lawrence Fortun, for more economic development and progress.
According to some members of the Butuan City SP, the next year’s budget will surely boost the economic development program of the city government, as capital city in Caraga region.
Currently, Lagnada is closely supervising all ongoing ground works of roads, both in urban and rural areas. He also ordered the officials and technical men of the city’s engineering department to go on the ground in 24/7 basis to hit the timeline of completion of all infrastructure projects, especially on road construction.
“These roads are very vital to our farmers in bringing their farm products to the city’s public market,” Lagnada pointed out.
