Building turned over to Borongan school

BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar – The Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) Eastern Samar District Engineering Office (ESDEO) has turned over a two-story, eight-classroom building to the Eugenio S. Daza Pilot Elementary School.

District Engineer Manolo A. Rojas told Manila Bulletin the R16, 539, 360 for the building project came from the 2017 Basic Educational Facilities Fund Batch 14 of the Department of Education (DepEd).

There are 2,096 pupils enrolled at the pilot school. “Because of insufficient classrooms before, we had many overcrowded and noisy classes which hinder students’ learning,” said Myra Fe G. Obina, an adviser of the school.

In Biliran, DPWH has completed nine school buildings worth R38.4 million in four towns of the province.

David P. Adongay Jr., Biliran district engineer said the buildings can accommodate 1,040 students.

Adongay said a two-classroom structure was built in Culaba town and a three-classroom structure was built for Acaban Elementary School.

Adongay said three buildings in Bool Elementary School also in Culaba were also completed that will benefit more or less 360 students.

Alfredo L. Bollido, assistant district engineer, said in the town of Caibiran, the district office has also completed a four-classroom building at Caibiran Elementary School for at least 160 pupils.

About 120 pupils will also benefit from the newly completed three -classroom structure in Katipunan Elementary School in the same town.

Also completed were a threeclassroom building at Salangi Elementary School in Almeria town and a two-classroom building in Bato Elementary School in Biliran.
