Build­ing turned over to Boron­gan school

BORON­GAN CITY, East­ern Sa­mar – The Depart­ment of Pub­lic Works and High­ways’ (DPWH) East­ern Sa­mar Dis­trict En­gi­neer­ing Of­fice (ESDEO) has turned over a two-story, eight-class­room build­ing to the Eu­ge­nio S. Daza Pilot El­e­men­tary School.

Dis­trict Engi­neer Manolo A. Ro­jas told Manila Bul­letin the R16, 539, 360 for the build­ing pro­ject came from the 2017 Ba­sic Ed­u­ca­tional Fa­cil­i­ties Fund Batch 14 of the Depart­ment of Ed­u­ca­tion (DepEd).

There are 2,096 pupils en­rolled at the pilot school. “Be­cause of in­suf­fi­cient class­rooms be­fore, we had many over­crowded and noisy classes which hin­der stu­dents’ learn­ing,” said Myra Fe G. Obina, an ad­viser of the school.

In Bili­ran, DPWH has com­pleted nine school build­ings worth R38.4 mil­lion in four towns of the prov­ince.

David P. Adon­gay Jr., Bili­ran dis­trict engi­neer said the build­ings can ac­com­mo­date 1,040 stu­dents.

Adon­gay said a two-class­room struc­ture was built in Cu­laba town and a three-class­room struc­ture was built for Aca­ban El­e­men­tary School.

Adon­gay said three build­ings in Bool El­e­men­tary School also in Cu­laba were also com­pleted that will ben­e­fit more or less 360 stu­dents.

Al­fredo L. Bol­lido, as­sis­tant dis­trict engi­neer, said in the town of Caibi­ran, the dis­trict of­fice has also com­pleted a four-class­room build­ing at Caibi­ran El­e­men­tary School for at least 160 pupils.

About 120 pupils will also ben­e­fit from the newly com­pleted three -class­room struc­ture in Katipunan El­e­men­tary School in the same town.

Also com­pleted were a three­class­room build­ing at Salangi El­e­men­tary School in Alme­ria town and a two-class­room build­ing in Bato El­e­men­tary School in Bili­ran.
