- By AARON B. RECUENCO

The Western Visayas regional police has initiated the conduct of moral enhancement and reformation seminar for uniformed personnel who committed minor infractions.

Chief Supt. John Bulalacao, director of the Western Visayas regional police, said among those who would be attending are the 27 personnel of the Anilao Police Station in Iloilo province who were all sacked for alleged breach of discipline which include sleeping while on duty.

The seven-day Focused Reformation Orientation and Morale Enhancement (FORM), according to Bulalacao, will start on Monday.

“We do not tolerate the laxity and misbehavior of our personnel. We are constantly reminding our personnel to abide by the rules and regulations of the PNP,” said Bulalacao.

“The relief of all personnel of Anilao Municipal Police Station will serve as a lesson to other personnel of Police Regional Office 6 to religiously comply with their duties and responsibilities as police officers,” he added.

On Friday, Bulalacao ordered the relief of the entire personnel of the Anilao Police Station based on the findings of the National Police Commission (Napolcom).

It was recalled that on December 6, Napolcom Regional Office 6 personnel went to Anilao Municipal Police Station and found the personnel to have violated several rules and regulations of the PNP. The violations include no duty sentinel was on post during inspection and personnel were caught sleeping during their tour of duty.

Bulalacao said that he had already re-assigned the sacked Anilao Police Station personnel to the Personnel Holding Administrative Unit (PHAU) of Iloilo Police Provincial Office while they face investigation.

The official said that a replacement was already sent to Anilao town, including a new town police chief, Chief Insp. Ciriaco Esquiliarga.
