DOH awards health achiev­ers in E. Visayas

PALO, Leyte – The Depart­ment of Health in East­ern Visayas ex­tended due recog­ni­tion to gov­ern­ment of­fices, prov­inces and lo­cal gov­ern­ments in the re­cently con­cluded re­gional award­ing of health achiev­ers.

The pro­gram was high­lighted by the award­ing of Red and Pink Or­chid Awards.

The Red Or­chid is the high­est award con­ferred to those who re­sponded pos­i­tively, in­stalled nec­es­sary poli­cies, and im­ple­mented di­rect ac­tion in achiev­ing a 100 per­cent smoke-free com­mu­nity.

Nineteen gov­ern­ment of­fices in­clud­ing Phil­Health lo­cal health in­sur­ance of­fices in the Or­moc, Naval, Maasin, Boron­gan, Cat­balo­gan, Catar­man and Cal­bayog were given the Red Or­chid Award, while three gov­ern­ment hos­pi­tals namely: Allen District Hos­pi­tal, North­ern Sa­mar Pro­vin­cial Hos­pi­tal and Ta­cloban City Hos­pi­tal also re­ceived the award.

Lo­cal gov­ern­ments that re­ceived the Red Or­chid Award are Li­ma­sawa, Padre Burgos, San An­to­nio, San Fran­cisco and Si­lago all in South­ern Leyte, Arteche, East­ern Sa­mar and Or­moc City.

The Phil­Health East­ern Visayas Re­gional Of­fice and Civil Ser­vice Com­mis­sion East­ern Visayas Re­gional Of­fice were el­e­vated to the Hall of Famer for gov­ern­ment of­fices.
