DOH awards health achievers in E. Visayas
PALO, Leyte – The Department of Health in Eastern Visayas extended due recognition to government offices, provinces and local governments in the recently concluded regional awarding of health achievers.
The program was highlighted by the awarding of Red and Pink Orchid Awards.
The Red Orchid is the highest award conferred to those who responded positively, installed necessary policies, and implemented direct action in achieving a 100 percent smoke-free community.
Nineteen government offices including PhilHealth local health insurance offices in the Ormoc, Naval, Maasin, Borongan, Catbalogan, Catarman and Calbayog were given the Red Orchid Award, while three government hospitals namely: Allen District Hospital, Northern Samar Provincial Hospital and Tacloban City Hospital also received the award.
Local governments that received the Red Orchid Award are Limasawa, Padre Burgos, San Antonio, San Francisco and Silago all in Southern Leyte, Arteche, Eastern Samar and Ormoc City.
The PhilHealth Eastern Visayas Regional Office and Civil Service Commission Eastern Visayas Regional Office were elevated to the Hall of Famer for government offices.
