PALO, Leyte - Internal security operations (ISO) equipment and field investigators crime scene kits worth R57 million were distributed to police provincial mobile force battalions and police provincial offices on Monday.

Chief Supt. Angelito Casimiro, PNP director for logistics said the equipment is part of the 2017 procurement and the distribution is part of their capability enhancement program.

"Our capability enhancement started in 2008, wherein R2 billion were alloted for each year, but when President Rodrigo Duterte assumed his position, it was the first time that P9 billion was given to the PNP," he shared.

Nine battalions received a total of 36 thermal imagers and 105 GPS.

155 field investigators crime scene kits were given to eight police provincial offices in Eastern Visayas.

He added that they aim to equip each personnel with at least one pistol and one rifle by 2020.
