Drug suspect shot dead

CEBU CITY – A 30-year-old man suspected of being involved in illegal drugs was killed in an alleged shootout with police on Christmas Day. Layme Anubling reportedly fired at policemen who were on a surveillance mission in Barangay Tisa, the police reported. Chief Insp. Keith Allen Andaya of the Punta Princesa Police Station said Anubling was in the watch-list of the Barangay Anti Drug Abuse Council. Anubling was jailed in 2016 for drug possession and was released last June 2.
