Philippine Telegraph and Telephone Corp. (PT&T) has partnered with 5G Security, Inc. (5GS) to provide cybersecurity solutions to enterprises in the country.

"The number of transactions in the web are increasing,” noted James Velasquez, president and chief executive of PT&T. "Cybersecurity is essential in today’s world."

"The strength and reliability of our services will complement PT&T’s products and services,” according to Colonel Leuvino Valencia (Ret), senior vice president and chief operations officer of 5GS.

5GS offers cybersecurity solutions, both hardware and software such as Multi-dimensional Security System, Ground Security –Personnel Access Control, Ground Security –Vehicle Access Control, Ground Security –Perimeter Protection, Medium/Low Airspace Protection (anti-drones), Computer Network/Online Protection, Security Visualization and Security Operations Center (SOC).

The partnership, which combines the 100 percent fiber network of PT&T and the cybersecurity expertise of 5GS, is also aligned with the state's Cybersecurity Plan of 2022 focusing on the need to make government, business and individual information secure and available.

Last year, PT&T partnered with Paynamics to deliver electronic payment solutions to large, small and medium enterprises.

The flexible and scalable technology of Paynamics coupled with PT&T’s fiber connectivity is expected to change the way Filipinos do online transactions.

PT&T’s 10,000 kilometers of 100 percent fiber allows seamless connectivity while Paynamics has an extensive payment processing network that offers multi-channel pay-in and pay-out options.

Earlier, PT&T reported a 193 percent increase in net income from a year ago.

The company’s revenues also went up 62 percent from the previous year. PT&T attributed the increase in revenues to the rise in the number of clients and lower expenses since new management came in August 2017.

The company’s client base jumped 72.6 percent from a year ago.
