The only thing constant in showbiz is–all together now change.

Since his contract with TV5 expired mid last year, actor Derek Ramsay has got fans curious on his next career move.

Rumors of him returning to the Kapamilya network spread like wildfire, further fuelled by that fact that its sister company, Star Cinema, cast him in a movie.

As it turns out, Derek might have a different plan.

In our last interview with the actor sometime November, he revealed he has been in talks with GMA executives, even meeting with them twice in one week.

“They’re really nice. They were kind enough to invite my parents during the meeting,” he said, though stressing he is “not yet” Kapuso as they are still “negotiating certain things.”

At the time, Derek shared he told GMA that he hopes to start working again in 2019. He added he is still thinking hard about the decision, claiming it will be his last “hurrah” as actor.

So, it’s a new year – what’s up, Derek? Well, it seems broadcaster Arnold Clavio was referring to Derek in one of his blind items on DZBB. He claimed a certain “hunk actor” will sign a contract with GMA this January, then gave obvious clues pointing out to no less than Derek Ramsay.

Several reports also claimed he will be partnered with Jennylyn Mercado in a new drama series.

Derek left ABSCBN and joined TV5 years ago, alongside Sharon Cuneta, Aga Muhlach, and Willie Revillame. Sharon and

Aga have since returned to the Kapamilya Network while Willie is now with GMA-7.
