Proper Handwashing All Year Round

The promotion of proper handwashing goes beyond the Global Handwashing Day. Philusa Corporation’s Cleene is dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives.

With the theme “Clean Hands, A Recipe for Health,” Cleene collaborated with Manila Water Foundation to amplify the advocacy. The narrative for 2018 focuses on the links between handwashing and food, including food hygiene and nutrition. Handwashing at critical times, especially before cooking, eating, or feeding others is one of the most important ways to keep food clean and safe, prevent diseases, and help children grow strong.

Philusa president shares, “We should always be reminded that handwashing should be part of every meal. Our company and our partners from Manila Water Foundation have an enduring commitment in endorsing handwashing. This is evidenced by our collective support of promoting the cause wherever, and whenever we can—from Manila to Cebu and to Davao.”

In the nationwide tour, Philusa and its partner showcased proper step-by-step handwashing practices, while doing a healthy meal cooking demo for moms, and guaranteeing a healthy commitment through a pledge wall. Philusa’s distribution of hygiene kits with Cleene Anti-bacterial Foaming Hand Soap ensured that the public will achieve its healthy daily lifestyle targets.

He adds, “This season, we want to be extra careful with our health for us to be able to maximize the festivities with our loved ones to the fullest. Let’s get rid of all the negativities this new year—that includes the germs that cannot be seen by our eyes.”
