Thanks for keeping faith in Duterte, BOL – Malacañang

- By FRED M. LOBO

MALACAÑANG has expressed its gratitude to Filipinos who continue to believe that President Duterte will be able to fulfill his promises.

“Continue putting your faith in the President in the remainder of his term,” the Palace urged.

** * Likewise, Malacañang welcomed the conduct of a peaceful Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite in Southern Philippines.

A manifestation that the Duterte administration is sincere in implementing signed peace agreements, the Palace added.

** * Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo welcomed the results of the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey which showed that almost half of Filipinos expect the President to deliver most of his campaign promises during his term.

Duterte could “fulfill most, if not all, of his promises,” 48 percent of the survey respondents said.

Panelo said that the people’s trust in Duterte was clearly reflected in the Fourth Quarter 2018 SWS survey conducted last December 16-19, 2018.

“We thank the Filipino people for continuously believing in the President’s promises to bring compassion and real change to the nation,” Panelo said.

Panelo said the favorable survey results can be attributed to Duterte’s drive in fighting illegal drugs, criminality, and corruption.

“These three main issues form the heart of PRRD’s campaign platform in 2016 and the Filipinos witnessed the voluntary surrender of more than a million drug personalities, the making of safe neighborhoods in the cities, as well as the firing of erring officials in the government, including long-time friends, allies, relations, and fraternity brods,” he said.

* * * Malacanang then urged the people to continue trusting that Duterte can give Filipinos a better life.

“We urge the people to continue putting their faith in our President in the remainder of his term even as we remain committed in fulfilling our aspiration for a comfortable and crime-free life in the Philippines,” Panelo said.

Panelo recalled that during the presidential campaign, Duterte promised to put an end to the illegal drug trade and criminality in three to six months, to end contractualization, and for the creation of the Bangsamoro government and a shift to a federal form of government.

Promises to keep, vows to fulfill.

* * * Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. said that Wednesday’s conduct of a peaceful Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite is a manifestation that President Duterte is sincere in implementing all the signed peace agreements with the Moro fronts.

“What we witnessed was the achievement of the centuries-old political clamor of the Moro people to chart their own future. It was an extraordinary electoral exercise that was meant to end the decades-old armed conflict and attain the elusive peace in Mindanao,” Galvez said.

“With all of us on board in the peace process and with the grace of the Almighty, I believe we can surmount any challenge we will face in the upcoming plebiscite. Let us continue in our journey on the path of peace,” he added.

Yes to challenges, yes peace!
