Albay blaze razes 70 houses
LEGAZPI CITY, Albay — At least 113 families or 764 individuals were left homeless after fire gutted at least 70 residences in Barangay Victory Village, Legazpi City on Friday.
SFO4 Aramis Balde, Bureau of Fire (BFP) Bicol spokesperson said the fire started around 2:43 p.m. reportedly due to a short circuit in the service dropwire at the residence of a certain Rosemarie Barbacano.
According to Balde, the fire reached general alarm, and was declared fire out around 4:07 p.m.
Victims are now appealing for help as they are homeless and are temporarily occupying the barangay hall and public elementary school of the barangay. (Niño N. Luces)
