Cell phone radiation is dangerous

-

No doubt about it – the cell phone is a fabulous invention. In today’s lifestyle, we can no longer do without cell phones. But knowing that excessive use of cell phones is dangerous and in fact could kill far more people than smoking or asbestos because of radiation, we should limit our use of them wherever possible. We should take prudent and simple precautionary measures in the use of cell phones in a way that is most compatible with preserving our health.

Here are some health tips on cell phone radiation that cell phone users should know:

•Do you know that as long as the cell phone is turned on, the cell phone emits radiation intermittently – even if the cell phone user is not actually making a call. The simple advice is to turn off the cell phone more often. And when at home or at the workplace, to use a landline instead;

•Do you know that it is better for us to avoid carrying/tucking our cell phones anywhere in our body – not in our pants pocket; not in our shirt pocket; not in our bras; and not in our hips;

•Do you know that there is no such thing as safe dose of radiation because the effects of exposure to radiation are cumulative and therefore repeated and increase exposure to radiation in the body correspondingly continue to damage our body tissue and organs;

•Do you know that it is safer to use cell phone outdoors? As much as possible, we should avoid using cell phones within an enclosed area, such as in a car, or in a train, or within three feet of small children;

•Do you know that placing a cell phone call in your car is like sitting inside of a microwave oven. When you use the phone in the car, the shielding and tinting on newer automobile models cause the electromagnetic waves to bounce back and forth inside the cabin of the vehicle. Exposing yourself and the other passengers to increased levels of electromagnetic radiation;

•Do you know that texting, instead of talking is better for the health of cell phone users;

•Do you know that it is better to make calls outside buildings and elevators – less exposure to radiation, that is;

•Do you know that it is better to tile the cell phone away from your ear when you are talking with somebody and bring it closer to your ear when you are listening;

•Do you know that there are increasing evidence to show that cell phone radiation can cause Alzheimer’s disease;

•Do you know that it is better to use land lines at home and at work rather than use our cell phones to minimize our exposure to cell phone radiation;

•Do you know that studies show using a cell phone for 10 years or more approximately doubles the risk of being diagnosed with a brain tumor on the same side of the head where the cell phone is typically held;

•Do you know that people can increase their resistance to cell phone radiation damage by taking increased dosage of antioxidants, melatonin, Vitamins B, C, E, and folic acid as these are natural oxidative stress fighters.

Many of us have been warned at one time or another that we should never leave a mobile phone in car compartment especially when the vehicle is exposed to direct sunlight for a long period of time. A news clipping was shared to me regarding an incident that happened in Saudi Arabia of a mobile phone explosion inside a vehicle cabin. It was reported that mobile phone units were left inside the car compartment of a vehicle parked in an open area at midday. One of the phones had its power “on.” Reportedly, after an hour in the hot park, one of the mobile phones exploded. It was reported that the overheated battery caused by the extremely hot temperature in the closed unventilated vehicle cabin triggered the explosion.

Have a joyful day! (For comments/reactions please send to Ms. Villafuerte’s email: villafuerte_nelly@yahoo.com)
