Drugs seized in Valentine’s Day buy-bust operation
More than 12 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by the Quezon City police from three drug suspects during a buy-bust in Los Baños, Laguna on Valentine's Day.
Quezon City Police District director, Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel Jr., identified the arrested suspects as Shoib Sampal, 35; his livein partner Rossette Dimas, 39, both residents of Los Baños, Laguna, and their companion Violeta Espina, 31, of Tondo, Manila.
The three were arrested during a buy-bust operation which was an offshoot to a previous drug sting in Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches on Wednesday where at least 50 grams of shabu worth more than 1300,000 were seized.
The four arrested suspects on the previous buy-bust pointed out partners Sampal and Dimas as their source.
Quezon City Police Station 4 commander, Superintendent Rossel Cejas, revealed that the couple were former residents of Brgy. Bagong Silang in Caloocan City before they moved to Los Baños.
Anti-narcotics personnel of PS-4 with members of Los Baños Police Station immediately set a drug sting against the suspects at Sampal's residence at Villa Armanda residences in Brgy. San Antonio around 9:30 p.m.
An undercover policeman pur-
chased shabu from the suspects worth 1191,000.
Upon handing the item and the marked money, responding officers immediately collared the suspects.
Seized from them were 350 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of 12,380,000, five mobile phones, a dark gray Toyota Fortuner and the buy-bust money.
