Amihan to bring colder mornings

- By ELLALYN DE VERA-RUIZ

A fresh surge of northeast monsoon or amihan will prevail over some areas, bringing colder weather in the morning in the next few days.

The northeast monsoon or amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains and lower air temperatures over Batanes and Babuyan islands by Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Meanwhile, generally fair weather condition will prevail over the rest of the country apart from isolated light rains mostly over the eastern section of the country.

Throughout the rest of the week, PAGASA said colder mornings will be felt over most parts of Central and Southern Luzon as the amihan will prevail over these areas.

Generally sunny weather apart from some periods of light rains will prevail over the rest of the country, it added

So far, PAGASA does not expect the formation of a low pressure area or tropical cyclone that may affect the country throughout the week.

Based on PAGASA’s historical record, there is a little chance that tropical cyclones enter or make landfall over the country in February.
