PBA D-LEAGUE Tigers shred Batangas-EAC

University of Santo Tomas got a huge lift from Soulemane Chabi-yo, Rhenz Abando and Mark Nonoy to crush Batangas-Emilio Aguinaldo College, 94-70, in the PBA D-League at the new Paco Arena in Manila.

Chabi-yo, a native of Benin, led the way with 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Growling Tigers of coach Aldin Ayo started off their campaign on a high note to share the early lead with Cignal-Ateneo in the Aspirants Group.

Abando added 17 points and nine rebounds while Nonoy, fresh from playing for UST’s Tiger Cubs in the UAAP juniors division, produced 15 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Ayo inserted Nonoy in the tournament in hopes of honing his skills before plunging into the UAAP seniors division later this year.

Meanwhile, Centro Escolar University and souped-up AMA Online Education start their respective campaigns against separate rivals today at the same venue.
