Pasay jail inmate yields shabu

Shabu valued at some 1250,000 was seized from an inmate inside the Pasay City Jail during the Oplan Greyhound early Monday morning.

Pasay City Jail Warden Supt. Joe Jay Arejola identified the inmate as Joel Dela

Cruz, 50, who he said was also arrested for illegal drug charges in May 2018.

Arejola said inmates on the fourth floor of the Pasay City Jail were asked to line up during the Oplan Greyhound at around 5 a.m.

Jail officers pulled Dela Cruz out from the line after they noticed a bulge at the back of his pants. Upon frisking, Dela Cruz was asked to take off his pants.

Authorities then found a sachet of suspected shabu weighing about 25 grams with an estimated value of 1250,000 inserted between his buttocks.
