Hyundai Kona Electric and Palisade

Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), launched their environmentally-friendly, fullelectric crossover SUV, the Kona Electric. This is Hyundai’s first-ever electric SUV and it has some pretty astounding stats. Its electric motor has 204-Ps of power with 395-Nm of torque, ensuring instant power. Power comes from its lithium-ion polymer battery, which has a higher output than the more conventional nickel-hydride batteries. The battery is light and doesn’t take up space.

HARI also launched their newest flagship SUV, the Palisade, which takes its name from the picturesque and affluent Pacific Palisades community in Southern California, known for modern architectural masterpiece homes and spectacular sunsets. This premium SUV has a massive hood and a large meshtype grill. It seats seven with luxurious second row captain’s chairs, and the 60/40 split third row seat is poweractivated. It’s equipped with advanced display technology with a wide layout. Its fully-automatic air conditioning system allows the front, second and third row seats to independently control their desired cabin temperatures.

Under the hood is a 2.2-liter CRDi e-VGT GLS engine that puts out 200-Ps and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Palisade is equipped with Hyundai’s HTRAC all-wheel drive (AWD) system and has a dial-type HTRAC Multi-Terrain Control selector. Standard is the Heads-Up Display (HUD), Blind View Monitor with Blind Spot Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitor, Cruise Control and nine airbags (front, side, curtain, and knee).

Planning on doing some long distance driving this Holy Week? Well you’re not the only one. Many Filipinos are already planning out-of-town trips with their loved ones. To make sure that you stay safe while on the road, RCBC Savings Bank (RSB) Auto Loan has the following reminders: when on the road, keep in mind the 3 P’s. 1. Plan your trip.

Remember, a lot of people will be on the road this Holy Week. Your trip will go more smoothly if you map out your trip in advance and plan ahead. Where are you going? What time do you need to leave? What route will you take? How many of you will be on the trip? If you’re the designated driver, part of the responsibility is getting enough sleep before your trip and wearing loose, comfortable clothes to avoid discomfort.

2. Prepare your car for the long drive.

Before setting off on your trip, make sure that your vehicle is in tip-top shape. Check your car’s fluids, make sure that they are at their proper levels; ensure that all lights are working; the brakes are in order; tires are in good condition, and that you have a full tank of gas. And of course, on the day of your trip, make sure that everyone has their seatbelt on.

3. Pack accordingly.

Due to the nature of long drives, you need to make sure that you have everything you need for the trip. Some light snacks like biscuits or a sandwich can be a lifesaver on the road. Also, the summer heat can take its toll on you (and your car), so make sure both stay hydrated. Medicine like some motion sickness tablets and your first aid kit might come handy, too.

Plan, prepare, pack—keep these 3 P’s in mind. Have a happy and safe time on the road from your financial partner, RCBC Savings Bank.
