Mitsubishi Motors...
capable of producing export quality vehicles that will further boost the Philippine economy.
As MMPC surpassed its millionth unit sales, the company eagerly looks forward to brining new and exciting vehicles designed to meet the needs of the Filipino people.
Mitsubishi can trace its heritage in the Philippines as far back as 1963, as Chrysler Phils. Corp., selling vehicles badged as Chrysler, though wholly Mitsubishi-built models. Since then it has gone on to assemble key models in Philippine automotive history such as the Mirage, Lancer, Galant, Pajero, Adventure, L300, Strada, and Montero Sport. Today, Mitsubishi currently manufactures the Mirage G4 in its assembly plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna.
Return of the L300
Besides the celebration of this key milestone in its history, MMPC had yet another announcement for all those present. The L300 FB, a favorite vehicle of SMEs, will be made available once again. The L300 FB was once a staple of Mitsubishi’s lineup, as a reliable and affordable vehicle suitable for small and medium size businesses.
It was only discontinued due to government regulations requiring all new vehicles sold by 2018 to be Euro-4 emissions compliant. The L300 could only meet Euro-2 emissions regulations. With some clever engineering, MMPC was able to upgrade the L300’s powertrain with a newer, more powerful system that also meets environmental requirements.
The new and improved L300 now boasts of a newer, cleaner powerplant, redesigned front façade, and a revised passenger cabin for a more modern look.
Mitsubishi has yet to announce when the vehicle will be made available but it is very likely to be offered once again within the year.
