-

Committed in alleviating human suffering and uplifting the dignity of the most vulnerable, Philippine Red Cross-Manila Chapter launched its first Kapit-Kapihan, a fund-raising event held at Diamond Hotel last March 28, 2019. This fundraising event is intended for the betterment of its logistic and service capacities.

Making its resources sufficient in the growing demands of humanitarian service due to urbanization, Manila Chapter is moving forward to be more accessible to Manileños by having a Satellite Office located at Honorio Lopez Building in Tondo that will be operational in a few weeks’ time. A building with its own blood service facility alongside with an emergency medical service facility is another project targeted to be operational within the year to complement the increasing needs of the people in terms of blood and emergency medical services. All its future projects are estimated to cost around 15 million to 16 million benefiting those who are in most vulnerable situations explained by PRC Governor Leonida Ortiz.

Aiming to surpass its previous years’ performances wherein thousands of people were reached by their six major services: Blood, safety, disaster management, health, welfare, red cross youth and volunteer service as showcased during the event, the attendees who shares a common interest and heart in humanitarian service, pledged their support to the local chapter. Manila Chapter gladly assures the donors that their support will go a long way in life-saving operations.
