Holy Week 2019 Travels and Traditions of the Stars

Derek Ramsay
TRAVELS: “I’ll be going to Palawan with my family. I have a place in Palawan. It’s my favorite place in the entire world so every chance that I can get, I go to Palawan.”
TRADITIONS: “We just spend time together during Holy Week.”
Andrea Torres
TRAVELS: “This is the first time that I’ll be going on a trip during Holy Week. I’ll be going to the Maldives.”
TRADITIONS: “Usually, we just stay at home and we do Visita Iglesia.”
Therese Malvar
TRAVELS: “Before Holy Week I’ll be attending a World Youth Conference of a Catholic Youth Ministry I’m part of. It’ll be in Batangas so that’s still part of my Holy Week plans.”
TRADITIONS: “My family usually takes the time to rest and we visit churches during Holy Week. We tend to keep it peaceful and solemn for the Holy Week so we can fully appreciate Jesus and God’s presence.”

TRAVELS: “I’ll be traveling to Japan with my boyfriend.” TRADITIONS: “We go on Visita Iglesia as a family in nearby churches/chapels.”

TRAVELS: “This year my family decided to travel to the United States to visit our relatives.”
TRADITIONS: “My family usually stays in Manila every Holy Week to visit seven churches from Quezon City to Tagaytay.”
Shaira Diaz
TRAVELS: “I have no travel plans this coming Holy Week. I just like to rest, be with my family, and make time for them since I’ve been very busy at work.”
TRADITIONS: “Every year, we observe fasting. We also participate in the procession of Stations of the Cross. As a family, we do Easter egg hunting and ‘Salubong.’
We always have a family reunion at a private resort in Pansol, Laguna.”

TRAVELS: “I don’t have a Holy Week travel plan this year.”
TRADITIONS: “It’s our family tradition to stay at home to bond and reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice and love for us. We also take the time to thank him for all the blessings He has given us.”

TRAVELS: “Sometimes, we go for out-oftown family trips during Holy Week. This Holy Week, our family will be spending it at home so we can look after my five-monthold niece and spend time together.”
TRADITIONS: “Every Good Friday, we pray the rosary at 3p.m. Sometimes we go to the mall together on Black Saturday, especially there are some Black Saturday sales going on. On Easter Sunday, we get together for a family lunch.”
