Momprenuer: How does Neri Naig-Miranda do it all?

- By KRISTELLE BECHAYDA

Neri Naig-Miranda, former celebrity and the wife of

Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda, continues to be an inspiration to others with not just her parenting journey but also with her mompreneur skills. Last April 13, Moms and

Babies was able to catch up with the beautiful mom at Babyflo’s intimate gathering with the press where she was introduced as its new ambassadress.

NERI’S PARENTING STYLE

When asked on who the firsttime mom turns to for parenting advice, Neri shared that she learns from the examples being set by her parents, older siblings, and everyone else in her community on what is the right thing to do or not.

Kasi gusto ko yung pagpapalaki niya doon sa mga anak niya,” Neri shared of her older sister whose children always bag awards in school and are active in extracurricular activities.

As for instances when her twoyear-old son Miggy gets sick, Neri would turn to her mother for help.

At this early stage of parenting, Neri shared that she and Chito can still handle things on their own. In fact, their son rarely misbehaves and when he does, Neri said that she only has to explain Miggy’s behavior for him to understand what he has done wrong. Afterwards, her son would profusely apologize to her.

Just by looking at her Instagram posts is already enough for one to see just how hands-on Neri is when it comes to raising Miggy. The proud mom shared that she wants him to have a normal childhood and encourages him to explore his environment.

Gustong gusto ko ang matutunan niya yung mga ganyan,” Neri said, referring to the larong kalye games she once played

as a child.

MOTHERHOOD COMES FIRST

Neri is a proud mompreneur who simultaneously handles several business ventures in Tagaytay like her bakery Neri’s Bakeshop and her recently opened restaurant Neri’s Not

So Secret Garden, to name a few. But when asked on how she balances her time between her businesses and her family, she shared that it’s all about having priorities. “Uunahin mo muna kung ano ka. So ako, nanay ako ni Miggy, so Miggy muna. Kayo muna’” Neri said.

She also schedules her work around her son’s sleeping time. Every day, Neri would work whenever her son is asleep and would take a break to be with him when he is awake. But she also credits the efforts of her husband and staff, who make things more manageable for her.

She also acknowledges the efforts of her own business staff.
