- HD50 Forma Novus Modern Jeepney

The Hyundai Class-1 Modern Jeepney and the Hyundai “Forma Novus” Class-2 Modern Jeepney guarantee passenger safety and comfort with higher capacity and modern amenities while promising cost-effective, reliable and low maintenance operations.

The Hyundai Modern Jeepneys are custombuilt to meet or even exceed the requirements of the Department of Trade and Industry's (DTI) Bureau of Philippines Standards. Hyundai Class 1 Modern Jeepney

Hyundai's initial offering is the Class-1 Modern Jeepney. It is driven by a 2.5-liter, Euro-IV CRDi engine which offers proven fuel efficiency, reliability, and cleaner emissions. It likewise has better stability and safety, thanks to an optimized height to width ratio.

The main differentiator of Hyundai’s Class-1 Modern Jeepney is that it utilizes the tried and tested H-100 light truck platform unlike other Class-1 designs that predominantly use a multicab as base. This means higher capacity, more space, and importantly, a safer ride.

The Hyundai Class-1 Modern can comfortably seat 14 people. Compared to the conventional rear entry PUJ, its door is at the passenger side, mid-section of the vehicle, making it safer for entry and egress. One is greeted by a cashless payment system (Beep card), sidetional facing seats, and conveniently located handles. Moreover, what used to be seen as mere “addons,” are now basics–Wi-Fi, GPS tracking, CCTV cameras, and a speed limiter. Hyundai Class 2 Modern Jeepney: The Forma Novus

Unlike most Class-2 modern PUJs in the market, the Forma Novus is revolutionary since its first to adopt a body design completely built from scratch without utilizing the cabin component that comes standard with the truck base. Based on consultations with various public transport groups, there are a number of operaconstraints associated with traditional body designs.

The Forma Novus is a product of the “Jeep It Up” design competition, sponsored by HARI, in partnership with the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Architecture and Interior Design, and the UP College of Engineering.

The top four designs were chosen by technical experts from established vehicle body manufacturers, the academe, and HARI. These in turn were forwarded to the Research and Development Center of Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) in Seoul, Korea for certification where the Forma Novus emerged as the overwhelming choice.

The Hyundai HD-50 Light Truck chassis platform was specifically chosen by the HMC R&D Center as the base since it perfectly matches the award-winning Forma Novus body.

The result is a heavy-duty and high-capacity modern jeepney that can withstand the wear and tear transport vehicles are subjected to every day. The platform is designed to carry nearly twice the payload limit of Class-2 PUJs, giving it a high margin of safety in case of overloading. Its low center of gravity means better handling and increased safety at various operating speeds.

Forma Novus is powered by a 2.9-liter EuroIV engine that provides high power output without sacrificing fuel consumption, thanks to the superior fuel economy inherent in Hyundai CRDi engines. It likewise features a passenger side, mid-section entry, the requisite cashless payment system, Wi-Fi, GPS tracking, CCTV cameras and speed limiter. The more spacious interior can easily seat 23 passengers plus enough headroom for standing commuters. The Hyundai Difference

Operators and cooperatives can rest easy because the Hyundai Class-1 Modern Jeepney and Hyundai Forma Novus come with a Basic Warranty of 3 years/200,000 kilometers. They are built to deliver exceptional performance, consistent with Hyundai’s global quality standards.

Hyundai Modern Jeepneys have a chassis platform built using HMC’s proprietary hightensile steel technology which gives durable strength, high-corrosion resistance, and longer operating life. Combined with Hyundai’s world-class heavy-duty and fuel efficient diesel engines, these guarantee low-maintenance 24/7 operations, thus reducing downtime and boosting owner/driver satisfaction and profitability. Count on Hyundai’s current network of 11 dedicated commercial vehicle (CV) dealerships to deliver complete Sales, Service, and Spare Parts (3S) services. Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official Philippine distributor of Hyundai trucks and buses, is expanding its CV network to 20 dedicated dealerships by 2020.

Hyundai CVs are here to stay. With its portfolio of premium trucks and buses and now, modern jeepneys, HARI is throwing its support behind the nation’s efforts to enhance infrastructure and mobility, thus speeding up, not just the physical mobility, but also the upward social mobility of every Filipino.
