SLMC GLOBAL CITY RENEWS PARTNERSHIP WITH KOBE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
St. Luke's Medical Center Global City Institute of Digestive and Liver Diseases (IDLD) renews its partnership with Japan’s Kobe University School of Medicine, particularly in the field of advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy.
The partnership in 2015 resulted in the establishment of the St. Luke’s Center for Advanced Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the acquisition of the most advanced clinical gastrointestinal endoscopy system in the world – the Olympus Series 290 system. The Institute has increased its procedures that were previously considered challenging and complicated.
From 2016, St. Luke’s Global City IDLD GI Consultants and Fellows received hands-on training from top Japanese gastroenterologists in advanced endoscopy, particularly in endoscopic mucosal resection, endoscopic submucosal dissection, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, endoscopic ultrasound, and other advanced endoscopic techniques. As a result, the Institute is now a referral center for high level endoscopy performed by team of subspecialized experts in gastroenterology.
