Tony Labrusca believes Vice Ganda will look out for his best interest in their MMFF 2019 movie

Actor Tony Labrusca is uncomfortable with the sex symbol tag he earned over his love scenes with Angel Aquino from an online series.
“It’s an honor, and at the end of the day, I am flattered,” he first acknowledged. “But to be honest, when people think that (way about me), I can’t take myself serious. That’s not how I view myself naman. Hindi naman ako gwapong-gwapo sa sarili ko”
Of late, Tony’s everywhere – soap operas, indie films.
“I always tell people when they ask, ‘Oh, why do you have so many projects?’ ‘You know what, sometimes it’s just your time,” he said.
Tony recalled what Vice Ganda told him when the former was a contestant on reality search “Pinoy Boyband Superstar.”
“When I first started in showbiz, she told us na sometimes it’s just the perfect timing, being in the right place at the right time, being ready when it’s your turn. Maybe all my stars aligned. Kung para sa iyo, para sa iyo talaga.”
When we told him he was a favorite of Vice Ganda back then, he countered, “Parang hindi naman
po. I didn’t even win in the contest. I am not sure if I was one of his favorites pero that competition was a huge part of my career and I will always be thankful to Vice and the rest of the judges. They taught me a lot.”
This December, Tony will play Vice Ganda’s leading man in a Metro Manila Film Festival entry.
As expected, the actor was asked if he will do sexy scenes with the comedian.
“Oh my gosh!” he said laughing. “You know what… Mama Vice I think is looking out for my best interest as
well. I think she’s out there to take care of me. I don’t think she will make me do anything that I will be uncomfortable with.
“If ever there is a sensitive subject or scene, pag-uusapan muna namin ’yun. And si Mama Vice, as you all know, ay isa sa pinaka-mabait at open-minded na tao sa showbiz.”
It’s comedy, so why be bothered about it, we teased.
“Hindi naman po. ’Yung question ninyo is if I am open to kissing scenes. All I am saying is I think Ate Vice cares about me and she will not make me do anything I am uncomfortable with.”
So, are you not comfortable in having a kissing scene with Vice?
“It’s not like that. Is there a need for a kissing scene? That is what I was saying. I haven’t read the script so, hindi ko masasabi sa inyo na, ‘Oo, itong movie na ito ay kailangan ay may kissing scene
kami ni Vice.’ It’s not like that. For me, kasi I haven’t read the script so I don’t know how the story is going to end.”
Actually, Tony feels his sexy scenes from that online series might be replicated in the new movie but with comic twist.
“I am ready for that. Ready ako
na makipag-lambingan kay Mama Vice. I am excited in doing those scenes. Siyempre, pampakilig sa
mga audience namin, lalo na sa audience ni Ate Vice. For that, I am ready and I’m actually excited for that.”
When someone said Vice got him because the former feels the latter is extremely sexy, Tony thinks the comedian was just “joking.”
“Ang feeling ko nagbibiro lang
din si Mama Vice, pero at the same time thank you so much, Mama Vice. I am so excited and happy na
nakasama ako sa project na ito. I can’t wait to do our scenes.”
I think Ate Vice cares about me and she will not make me do anything I am uncomfortable with.
