- By ROY C. MABASA

Seven Filipino crewmen and four other crew members were missing after their fishing vessel sank off the coast of Brunei, Philippine foreign affairs office said Monday.

Citing a report from the Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, the DFA said two survivors of unknown nationality were rescued in a search and rescue that was halted on Sunday, four days after the sinking of fishing boat Radims 2.

The report, however, did

not identify the nationalities of the two survivors.

It said the last communication established between the owner of the fishing vessel and its captain was on August 7.

According to the report, Brunei’s National Search and Rescue Coordination Committee sought assistance from the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency in locating the missing crewmembers.

The Philippine Embassy in Brunei continues to monitor the developments on the incident.
