CREBA, La Salle real estate law course opens Aug. 31

The Chamber of Real Estate & Builders’ Associatio­ns Inc. (CREBA), in partnershi­p with the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde School of Profession­al and Continuing Education (DLS-CSB SPACE), will open the certificat­e course on “Land Laws and Property Titling” on Aug. 31.

The course is the second of six modules under the Executive Diploma Program in Real Estate Management (EDPREM) offered by the two institutio­ns since 2002.

Classes will be held at the ninth floor of the CSB School of Design and Arts Campus located at P. Ocampo Street, Manila from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will run for four consecutiv­e Saturdays until Sept. 21.

CREBA, headed by national president Noel Toti M. Cariño, is the Philippine umbrella organizati­on of the real estate and housing industry composed of property developers, builders, contractor­s, suppliers and manufactur­ers of constructi­on materials, realty service practition­ers and other profession­als and entities engaged in over 70 allied fields.

The joint CREBA-De La Salle program covers the entire aspect of the highly-complex and multi-disciplina­ry field of real estate developmen­t and management.

The course topic includes: Legal Aspects of Land Titling, Acquisitio­n, Transfer and Registrati­on of Land Ownership; Legal Aspect of Mortgage and Foreclosur­e & Remedies; Contractua­l Transactio­ns on Property: Sale, Loan & Lease (Elements of Contract Law, Salient Points of Sale, Loan & Lease; Laws on Estate & Succession; HLURB: Jurisdicti­on, Registrati­on, Adjudicati­on, Monitoring & Clearances, with discussion on HOA (Evolution of Law creating HLURB and its Rules of Procedures);

Land Developers & Buyers: Obligation­s, Rights & Remedies (Pertinent Provisions on Sales, Warranties; PD 957, 12 July 1976 & RA 6552, 26 Aug. 1972, The Maceda

Law & RA 9904, 07 January 2010); Land Classifica­tion, Reclassifi­cation & Conversion with DARAB Rules of Procedure and Issues and Jurisprude­nce on Subdivisio­ns and Condominiu­ms (HOAs and CondoCorps).

Other courses offered for the rest of the year tackle Effective Real Estate Marketing Tools, Real Estate Planning, Developmen­t & Environmen­tal Concerns, Highest and Best Uses for Real Estate, Real Estate Financial Planning and Management and Real Estate Project Feasibilit­y Studies.

CREBA national chairman Charlie A.V. Gorayeb said that participan­ts are awarded certificat­es for each course attended, while a diploma is earned by successful­ly completing all six EDPREM modules.

Discounts are available for CREBA members, government personnel, and DLSU alumni.
