Marian sells all her imported clothes, opts to champion local

- By REGINA MAE PARUNGAO

Marian Rivera has nothing but love for all things Pinoy. In case you haven’t noticed yet, actress Marian has been wearing for some time now, only clothes created by Filipino brands and designers.

She revealed in an interview that she had sold almost all of her imported designer bags and clothes in order to wear “Pinoy” all the way.

“Wala na sila (imported clothes)… nabenta na, tapos binili ko ng mga katutubong damit,” she said. “Nawala na ’yung pagkahilig ko sa imported. Siguro, nasabi ko na pag may pagkakataong may konting pambili, makabili ka ng medyo branded, pero sabi ko, what for?”

Her obsession for local weaves started when she was tapped as endorser of a popular Filipino clothing brand.

Marian believes there is every reason to be proud of Filipino culture and local products. She instills the same mindset to her children, Zia and Ziggy.

“Bakit hindi, ’di ba? Pilipino sila, dito sila pinanganak. Dapat lang na mahalin nila ang bansa nila,” she said.

Travel goals

Even with travel destinations, the Philippines is Marian’s first choice.

“Ang ganda kaya ng Pilipinas! So ’yun ang goal naming pamilya. ’Yung mapuntahan ’yung mga magagandang destinasyon dito,” she said.

The Dantes family went to Bohol few days ago. The actressTV host said Zia enjoyed seeing Tarsiers, the chocolate hills and the Loboc river.

On Instagram, Marian often posts sweet photos of her and husband Dingdong Dantes.

According to her, their love for each other has become stronger.

Friendship

Marian has rekindled her friendship with former manager

Popoy Caritativo and Lovi Poe.

It was Dennis Trillo who became instrumental to her meeting with Popoy recently.

“It’s an answered prayer,” she said to that effect.

Despite her positive outlook in life, Marian recently became a target of bashing following her “misinterpreted” remarks about the traffic situation in Metro Manila.
