Mark Neumann enjoys job as financial adviser

- By REGINA MAE PARUNGAO

Mark Neumann has a new job and it has nothing to do with show business. “I’m a licensed financial adviser now,” he revealed in a recent interview.

The actor hopes to help people with their finances especially when it comes to unnecessary spending and the importance of savings.

“Mayroon kasing thinking na spend first, then kung ano ’yung matira, ’yun lang ang papasok sa savings. But it should be the other way around,” he said. “Dapat save first, then spend only if necessary. The things you buy are those needed and not simply wanted.”

Mark stressed he’s not leaving show business.

“Kung kaya naman po pagsabayin ’di ba? I mean, kung may ialok na role, why not? Masaya lang talaga ’yung may iba kang ginagawa bukod sa pag-arte.”

He recently fulfilled one of his showbiz commitments, that of gracing the 25th anniversary of Bioessence. The company is headed by Dr. Emma Beleno-Guerrero who presided over the party with her children Joseph and Joanna Feliciano.

Under one roof

Mark didn’t deny he and his Cebuana girlfriend, Maffy Villamor, are cohabitating though they’ve yet to tie the knot.

“We will get there soon,” he said.

Mark already calls Maffy his fiancée.

“Pero hindi pa ako nagpopropose,” he laughed. “But I like to call her that because I’m sure she’s the one.”

One of the things he likes about her is that she understands the demands of his job in show business.

“Plus we have a lot in common when it comes to hobbies, views in life,” the actor added. Mark’s most recent project was “Mga Batang Poz,” where he played a gay role. He also did a love scene with co-star Raven Molina.

“She (Maffy) cringed a little there when she saw it!” he said. “Siyempre naman. I mean, everyone, when you see your loved one... parang...’di ba? It’ll make you cringe a little but she was proud of me. Kasi, she praised me for my performance, stuff like that.”

Mark resides in Lemery, Batangas now. According to him, he opts to live there because he enjoys the relatively quiet surroundings. He doesn’t mind traveling four, five hours whenever he’s needed in Manila.

“Sariwa ang hangin doon. Iba ang lamig. Tahimik ang buhay.”
