Honor Roll: HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw and Neverstop MFP 1200w

- By JONATHAN KEVIN CASTILLO

Going digital does not signify the end of the paper industry. If anything, There is a place for both paper and digital to coexist and what bridges them together are HP printers. In today’s issue of TechNews we check out two of HP’s newest printers out right now. The HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw and the Neverstop MFP 1200w.

Both of these printers are geared for small businesses, designed to be efficient and speedy, while being compact, leaving you with more space in your office or homes.

HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw

The Color Laser MFP179fnw is an affordable powerhouse of a printer. It has 18ppm with 150 paper capacity and it’s compatible with Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print to allow ease of printing at the touch of a button from as faraway as your Wi-Fi can let you.

It is also 40-page ADF—which alSince lows you to copy and print without you manually placing papers around. It’s fast and convenient and easy to use.

Performance-wise the Color Laser MFP 179fnw has shown impressive highlights. One of the things to commemorate about HP printers is how they begin to get smaller and smaller, allowing users to free up space whether for simpler aesthetics or when space is limited.

The control panel is straightforward and easy to use. It doesn’t have a touchscreen like more expensive HP printers but it serves its purpose well enough to give much needed functions with ease. When scanning, you can get a resolution up to 600dpi, which isn’t that bad.

Neverstop MFP 1200w

On the other hand, the Neverstop MFP 1200w is a smaller printer with a lot of speed. But its main feature here is its toner system. You heard that right, aside from the recent tradition of inks, the Neverstop MFP 1200w uses a very easy to use toner system.

Okay, get this, the new toner reload kit is one big syringe. In the 1200w there is a small cap that pops open where you insert the reload kit. Then push down the plunger, exactly how you see doctors or nurses stick your arm with a needle, and that’s it. It’s the most convenient reload system I have seen. Simple and efficient. It only takes seconds to do. And you’ll have more time to focus on the work before you— which is what really matters and the primary focus of HP designing this product—and that is why this printer is called “Neverstop.”

There are also physical buttons specifically designed for document or ID photocopying, which takes out the whole formatting and simplifies the process.

It’s important to note that the HP Neverstop Laser 1200w feels like a printer more suited for small businesses.

Truth be told, the Neverstop 1200w isn’t as fast as the Color Laser MFP 179fnw, which can get things done in seconds. But the idea behind the 1200w is it being small and easy to use. It’s that kind of printer whose maintenance you don’t have to worry about. It’s also that kind of printer where you focus on your work, hit print, and then go back to focus on your work, and fetch the papers later when you’re all done.

The HP Neverstop 1200w is reliable for small businesses, providing ease of use, low-maintenance, and costeffective, making it a great partner to have around the office.
