K-pop band DAY6’s Manila concert became a mixed bag of emotions, from being a moment of revelry and celebration to a time of reflection as members became sentimental over a fan-made video shown during the event.

Overall, it’s refreshing to see an act like DAY6 perform without the usual choreography used by K-pop artists to accompany their songs.

The five-member band, composed of Young K, Jae, Dowoon, Sungjin, and Wonpil, returned to Manila for their “Gravity” World Tour held on Nov. 23 at the Araneta Coliseum.

Before the show started, the throng of fans lining up outside the coliseum was already a clear indication of the concert’s success.

Inside, Pinoy My Days (term for DAY6 fandom) packed the venue armed with their light bands, white handkerchiefs and banners, which read, “You are our beautiful reason.”

DAY6, which debuted in 2015, started their set with “Best Part,” “Sing Me,” “I Wish,” “Somehow,” and “Time Of Our Life” and seeing the reaction of fans, the boys knew it was going to be a memorable night.

“Oh my goodness. I said it in the beginning and I’ll say it again, tonight will be a beautiful night if you want it to be. The most important thing is enjoy yourself. What a beautiful sight we have today. I love this energy, guys,” said Jae.
