Kim Chiu, JM De Guzman and Tony Labrusca cast in ‘exciting’ movie
For the first time, actors Kim Chiu, JM De Guzman and Tony Labrusca will work together in a movie for release next year.
In a video clip posted by ABS-CBN PR on their social media account, the actors gave their two cents on the fresh casting. Kim felt “excited” over the project. “Sana hindi maubos ’yung excitement ko,” she added in jest. “Pero exciting. Exciting for the year 2020.”
How about the boys, what do they look forward to in doing the movie?
“Wala naman. Pero I just feel blessed and honored na makatrabaho si Kim, si Direk (Derick Cabrido), and si Tony. So overwhelmed lang ako ng excitement,” JM said.
Tony echoed the answer, revealing he hesitated in accepting the proposal when it was offered to him.
“Kasi nu’ng pinitch ni Direk ang sabi nila si Kim and JM magiging kasama ko. So I was like ‘Wow.’ I don’t know if I can really do this kasi they are very good actors. I was very honest with Direk na ‘Are you sure you want me? Kasi, I mean, I believe in you guys but I’m not sure if I necessarily believe in myself yet.’”
But if ever, Tony thinks it won’t be hard to get along with the two actors as he shared that Kim is the best friend of Bela Padilla, his former co-star on “Sino Ang Maysala?: Mea Culpa.”
“Parehas sila — masaya, lagi nagjo-joke. And lagi din nagkukwento si Bela about sa friendship nila,” he related. “Si JM naman tropa niya ’yung dad (Boom Labrusca) ko.”
“I think I’m really in good hands. I just need to really rise up to the occasion, and grabe JM and Kim? I have a lot on my shoulders,” he added.
