MILLION VOLUNTEER RUN 5
The Million Volunteer
Run (MVR) 5, the largest humanitarian run in the Philippines, concluded with more than 32,000 runners in various run sites nationwide. Philippine Red
Cross (PRC) Chairman and
CEO, Sen. Richard Gordon expressed his thanks in a message, “Taos puso po akong nagpapasalamat, in behalf of all the staff and volunteers ng Red Cross, sa lahat ng nakilahok, lahat ng tumulong at sumama sa ating Million Volunteer Run na taon-taon nang ginaganap ngayon.”
The fun run is a nationwide event that took place in various cities from Luzon to Mindanao – some of which are Manila, Baguio, Olongapo, Cebu, Bacolod, Lapu-Lapu, Davao and Zamboanga. Aside from the Quirino Grandstand site, chapters with the biggest number of runners were Olongapo City, Southern Leyte and Zamboanga City.
Representatives from private corporations, government agencies, and the academe showed support and participated in the 3K and 5K runs. Some even made it a family event by bringing their loved ones and pets. Actor and voluntary blood donation advocate Enchong Dee also joined and was among the first finishers of the 5K run.
