Shaina Magdayao leads life without regrets

- By ALEX VALENTIN BROSAS (From left): Denise Laurel, Jake Cuenca and Shaina Magdayao

Shaina Magdayao gives her all in love that’s why she feels there would be no instance that memories of any of her past love would haunt her. “I make it a point na I exhaust everything — my effort, my love — para when time comes na hindi mag-workout ’yun ay wala po akong regrets,” she said.

Embracing the whole process, the younger sister of Vina Morales thinks there is no reason to cry over spilt milk as “kapag tapos na, tapos na.”

“Even ’yung hurt, the process, ’yung pagiging heartbroken, I take it in and I learn from it — then I move on kaya wala pong nagha-haunt na old love.”

As in never?

“Maybe when I was younger, yes. Marami kasing beses na doon ka pa lang nagkakamali. Merong mga sana ginawa ko ito, sana ganito ang ginawa ko sa tao, or maybe mas pinatawad ko agad. But then, through the years, natutunan ko to live without regrets. Now I sleep well at night.”

Shaina was asked those questions at the press conference of weekend thriller “The Haunted” co-starring Jake Cuenca and Denise Laurel. The project comes on the heels of her morning soap “Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit.”

Aside from the good script, the actress said Jake and director Manny Palo were among deciding factors for her to accept “The Haunted.” She’d worked with both before.

“Same pa rin ’yung chemistry na na-establish since 2012 but somehow different kasi siguro nag-iba na rin ’yung maturity ni Jake when it comes to playing his roles. And ako din, kapag mayroon siyang binato sa akin na emotion ay iba rin ang pagtanggap ko ngayon.”

“The Haunted” is about loving mother Aileen (Shaina), who is trying to rebuild her strained relationship with her husband Jordan (Jake) mainly for their daughter, Angel. Aileen is hesitant to welcome Jordan back in their lives, especially after his negligence caused Angel’s accident that leaves her in a coma for two years. However, after realizing how devoted and remorseful Jordan is, Aileen gives him a second chance, just in time as Angel wakes up.

Little does the newly reunited family know, their rekindling is the least of their problems as evil starts to lurk from the shadows. Aileen and Jordan’s relationship will again be put to the test as the ghost of a scorned woman starts to haunt them.

Produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, “The Haunted” is available on iWant.
