K-pop boy band BTS made history again by becoming the first artist to win all the two daesang, or grand prizes, in a single year at the 34th Golden Disc Awards (GDA).

The GDA ceremony was held recently at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul to honor the best Korean artists in digital music on the first day and album on the second day.

BTS won the digital daesang, or the digital song of the year, for “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey and the following day, they bagged the disc daesang, or album of the year, for “Map Of The Soul: Persona.”

“This is the last awards ceremony of the 2010s and also the first one of the 2020s. Thanks to you guys, we can get such great glory. Last year was such a happy year for me, I diligently worked, rested, and loved. Our 2010s were filled under the name of BTS. I hope that the 2020s will become a period when we can accompany ARMY. In the future, I will write this book under your name,” said RM as the group won the album daesang, reported Osen.

This is the third straight year that BTS won the album daesang after getting their first in 2018 for “Love Yourself: Her” followed by “Love Yourself: Answer” in 2019. Before this, EXO won the album daesang from 2014 to 2017, Super Junior in 2012 and 2013, and Girls’ Generation in 2010.

Earlier, BTS swept all the daesang at the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and 2019 Melon Music Awards (MMA).

In the GDA’s digital music category, the winners of the digital bonsang are TWICE, Taeyeon, BLACKPINK’s Jennie, BTS, Jannabi, M.C. The Max, ITZY, Akdong Musician, Paul Kim, and Chungha.
