Joem Bascon and Yeng Constantino start 2020 right

-

A new Cinemalaya project, “Angkas,” kicks off Joem Bacon’s schedule in 2020, while Yeng Constantino will work on a new album even as she continues her duties as “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” judge and mentor on “Your Moment.”

The work opportunities starting to pour on the two Star Magic artists come on the heels of their recent triumph at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). At the Gabi ng Parangal, Joem won the Best Supporting Actor plum while Yeng bagged the Best Supporting Actress award for their roles in “Write About Love.”

Joem, who also appears in the MMFF entry “Culion,” shared that it was his first time to attend the Gabi ng Parangal and he didn’t expect to win the award.

“Sobrang saya ko na nanalo ako,” he said. “It was my firt time na pumunta sa awards night kasi nu’ng first time ko na nag MMFF movie, nasa States ako.”

He thanked Yeng for giving her best which helped bring out the same in him.

“Yeng was very eager to learn tapos naiintindihan niya ’yung mga scenes namin, so nabigay niya ng may puso ’yung mga eksena,” he lauded. “Hindi ako magiging effective kung wala ’yun character ni Yeng at kung ’di kami nagbigayan sa

isa’t-isa.”

Yeng was pleasantly surprised learning about the news as she had spent the holidays abroad.

“Nasa Thailand airport ako nu’n eh pauwi ng Manila nu’ng nalaman kong nanalo ako. I opened my Twitter tapos ang daming nag-congrats na mga supporters ko. Ako naman ‘What? Totoo ba to?’ Medyo lutang ’yung feeling kasi ’di ko inasahan talaga.”

She admitted acting now has a special place in her heart.

“Sana po ay mas dumami pa ang acting projects dahil napamahal narin po sa’kin ’yung craft na ito.”
