K-pop boy band NCT Dream held their “Beyond the Dream Show” online concert few days ago, drawing audiences from around the world.

According to SM Entertainment, the show, streamed on Naver V Live, drew fans from 107 countries including the Philippines, US, Canada, UK, Malaysia, Norway, Finland, United Arab Emirates, Japan, China and France.

The concert ticket cost 33,000 won (about $27.12 or P1,365) but it was not disclosed how many fans watched the concert, unlike during SuperM’s “Beyond the Future” last April 26 when it was revealed that 75,000 people paid, netting an estimated revenue of $2 million. The total number of paid audiences for WayV’s online concert was not also disclosed.

“Beyond Live” is a brainchild of SM

Entertainment and Naver to stream online concerts using technology amid travel and physical crowd restrictions brought by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. It lets fans watch live concerts online without leaving their homes and for an affordable price.

NCT Dream performed their songs including “We Go Up,” “Chewing Gum,” “We Young” and “Drippin.’”

“‘Beyond Live’ helps us to be able to accompany each other from different countries and in different time zones,” said Haechan, according to Osen. “I’ve watched the concerts of seniors SuperM and WayV. I’ve always been curious about the feelings of standing on this stage. It’s not until I myself got to experience it that I truly feel this is an authentic concert.”

During the question-and-answer segment with fans, the group was asked how they relate to one another.

“There are also times when the members argue with each other like a family, and there are times when we play and joke around happily like brothers,” said Chenle.

Jisung explained, “To me, they are like cute little brothers. They are older brothers but look like little brothers because they are too cute.”

“It’s like there’s a different me. Because I’ve seen these guys since I wasn’t this tall, so when they grew up, so did I,” said Haechan.

For Jaemin, he said “the members are the ones who cannot live without each other and exist to help fix and fill each other’s shortcomings as well.”

Jeno compared NCT Dream to an onion, saying, “I’m not talking about the smell but it’s because they sometimes make me cry, but the more you peel, the more new aspects you will find in each person. To me, the members look refreshing every morning.”

“The members are my youth. They are very precious to me because we have been spending our youth together,” said Renjun.

Regarding NCT Dream’s plans, Haechan said that “the seven of us will continue to accompany each other. Like my activities in NCT 127, other members will join their own group. Please send much love for NCT Dream members.”

After NCT Dream, NCT 127 will hold an online concert on May 17.
