Boracay laborer arrested for online threat vsDuterte
ILOILO CITY – A 40-year-old construction worker inBoracay Island was arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) for posting an online threat against President Rodrigo Dutete.
The PNP of Malay town, Aklan province arrested Ronald DeliabaQuiboyen Tuesday night in Yapak village of the popular tourist destination.
In a spot report, the Malay PNP said it received numerous reports about the public post of Quiboyen via social networking site Facebook, which said that he was offering a P100-milion reward to kill Duterte.
“Yong 50-milyon nyodoblihinko, gawin kung 100-milyon kung sinomakapatay kay Duterte. AnditoakongayonsaBoracay (That P50 million,
I will double it to P100 million for anyone who can kill Duterte. I am here in Boracay right now),” Quiboyen wrote.
Quiboyen’s FB post about doubling the bounty on Duterte’s head was in reference to an earlier Twitter post made by 25-year-old Ronnel Mas, who had posted that he was dangling a P50-million reward for anyone who could kill Duterte.
Mas, a teacher, was arrested by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Zambales Tuesday night.
Quiboyen was arrested on the grounds of inciting sedition, as well as for violating the Cybercrime Law.
The Malay PNP has since turned over Quiboyen to the PNP’s Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) and PNP’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for appropriate filing of charges.
