Remulla sets conditions before Cavite malls could re-open
CAVITE — A day after ordering the temporary closure of all malls in Cavite, Governor Jonvic Remulla has enumerated the conditions that these establishments would have to follow before they will be allowed to re-open.
Among these conditions was for establishments to ensure that each shopper will only be limited to one hour inside the mall.
In a Facebook post Tuesday, May 19, Remullaalso said mall operating hours will be limited to 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and that mall security is expected to implement social distancing management in the establishment premises.
“May time card naiibigaysabawatnapasok ng mall. One hour (isangoras) lamangAngpwedesaloob,” the governor said.
“May mga safety marshal ang management at kailanganipakitaangmga time-card naitopagitinanong. Pag 10 minutes to go ay sasamahan kayo palabas… Uni-directional nasaloob Ng mall. May mga arrow namagbibigay direction sapaglakad ng namimili,” he added.
Remulla stressed that only quarantine pass holders will be allowed inside the malls.
“Pasensyanasa 90 percentna company, COE, at working ID natumupad at hindeinabusonungsistema,” he rued. “Yung 10 percentnatigasulo ay siniraangpagkakataonninyo. Angfrontliners ay always welcome but subject to the same rules.”
The governor also said that if he observes that social distancing is being earnestly followed in the province, he might start thinking about lifting the liquor ban.
The temporary closure order came aftera deluge of shoppers rushed to Cavite malls last weekend after the province shifted to a less restrictive general community quarantine (GCQ).
As of 3 p.m., May 18, Cavite has recorded 276 cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), with 88 recoveries and 26 mortalities.
