Stocks bounce back slightly

Local share prices moved up yesterday on optimism that quarantine measures may be eased. The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEI) gained 26.95 points, or 0.49 percent, to close at 5,523.78 with only the Services and Property sectors retreating. A total of 1.5 billion shares worth ₱5.48 billion changed hands as gainers outpaced losers 99 to 78 with 47 unchanged. “The Philippine market rallied on new vaccine news, and optimism over positive signs of global economic recovery,” said Regina Capital Developmen­t Corporatio­n Managing Director Luis Limlingan.
