- By JONATHAN HICAP

K-pop boy band GOT7 member Park Jinyoung held a virtual hangout with his Filipino fans on June 19, played games with them and answered questions they sent.

The e-meet and greet, organized by Globe, was held on the Kmmunity PH page on Facebook and hosted by Kring Kim.

Jinyoung’s drama “When My Love Blooms,” in which he costarred with Yoo Ji-tae, Lee Boyoung and Jeon So-nee, aired its final episode on June 14.

Asked how he connects with fans, Jinyoung said, “I used to see my fans through drama and recently my drama ‘When My Love Blooms’ ended so I was actually worried that I wouldn’t be able to see my fans but with Kmmunity PH, this opportunity, I’m so happy to see them.”

As for his upcoming projects, the 25-year-old singer and actor said, “As of now I don’t have plans but there are a lot of good offers through dramas and programs so my company and I are communicating to be able to accept these great offers.”

During the virtual hangout,

Jinyoung held a live performance of Justin Bieber’s “Changes,” a song that was part of Bieber’s album released last February.

In the question-andanswer segment with fans, Jinyoung was asked what tourist spot in the Philippines he would like to visit given the chance to return.

“Palawan,” he said. “I would like to visit Palawan because one of my managers studied in the Philippines and he said that the beach is incredibly beautiful. So I would like to visit Palawan soon. Also since the concert is the best place to connect with my fans, I really want to visit Philippine concert arena.”

About future drama or movie roles, Jinyoung said, “I would like to try a role that fits my young age the best. I think it’s best to do what fits your youth when you’re still young. I want to try a genre or role that will express my youth.” Jinyoung picked bulgogi as his favorite Korean food, saying, “There are so many to choose from but I would say that the Korean dish bulgogi would be my favorite dish. I’m sure a lot of Filipinos know this beef food. I would like to recommend this to all my fans.” Asked what’s the best thing about being Jinyoung, he said, “My career is the best thing about being me. Through this career, I was able to do things that I would not normally do If I weren’t in this business.

Of course, the most important thing would be that by being a GOT7 member, I can see my fans and get all their love and support. Being in this industry and being an artist is what’s best about me.”

He thanked the fans who attended the e-meet and greet, and said that amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, technology is a big help for him to meet his fans online.

“We may have interacted and connected from far away using online resources but I believe that it’s such an honoring experience for me to be able to connect to my fans even though online. I know it’s a very dangerous situation right now but I believe that technology can help us see each other easily. Of course, until the day we see each other again offline and reunite on concert grounds, I will be working hard as an artist and Park Jinyoung to be able to see you guys soon. Thank you again so much for this opportunity to see you all through the e-fan meet,” Jinyoung said.
