Go heeds appeal of Binangonan and Angono residents for livelihood assistance
After receiving various requests for additional government assistance from residents of Binangonan and Angono in Rizal, Senator Christopher
“Bong” Go facilitated the distribution of livelihood and other forms of aid.
He coordinated with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to provide livelihood assistance through the “Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa” livelihood program to 15 qualified beneficiaries in Binangonan, Rizal held last September 24 at the Negosyo Center, Casimiro A. Ynares Sr. Auditorium, Binangonan Municipal Compound, Barangay Calumpang.
According to Go, the government initiative seeks to provide Filipinos with means to start a business and help them earn sustainable livelihood.
That’s a program of the government in seeking to provide you with livelihood opportunities),” Go said to the beneficiaries in a video message.
The Senator said the DTI has to evaluate and assess potential beneficiaries before handing over the livelihood grant to ensure that the right kind of business package is given to them based on their capabilities and the needs of their communities.
On the same day, Go’s office also collaborated with the Department of Social Welfare and Development to provide financial aid to poor and vulnerable sectors in Angono, Rizal.
Go’s staff also distributed immediate assistance to the beneficiaries from both municipalities. Under strict health protocols, they provided them with food packs, masks, face shields, and meals.
Your cooperation and compassion for others can save lives (I appeal to you to wear your face masks and shields. Let us obey the government.),” he said.
The Senator also mentioned that once the vaccine is available, the poor and the vulnerable will be prioritized.
(When the vaccine is available, President Duterte will give you priority so you can finally hug one another. I know how difficult it has been for you.)
Go also provided bicycles to select beneficiaries to help them go to work especially now that the health crisis has hampered public transportation systems in many areas in the country.
