‘Mindanao’ dominates Luna Awards
Judy Ann Santos won Best Actress at the just concluded Luna Awards for her excellent work in “Mindanao.”
On Instagram, the 42-yearold actress expressed gratitude for the recognition.
“Maraming maraming dapat ipagpasalamat sa kabila ng maraming pagsubok at dagok ngayong taon.. Maraming salamat sa bumubuo ng Film Academy of the Philippines sa parangal at recognition na ito.. ang mapahanay at makilala ang trabaho kabilang ng mga kapwa ko aktres ay isang napakalaking bagay para sa akin,” she wrote.
She also thanked all those behind “Mindanao,” including director Brillante Mendoza.
“Maraming maraming salamat sa pagtitiwala… Para sa atin ang parangal na ito! Patuloy ang pagkilala sa trabahong ginawa mula sa puso, pagod at luha.. bawing bawi na ng bonggang bongga ang paginda ng balakang ko sa pagbubuhat kay aissa buong pelikula! mabuhay ang Pelikulang Pilipino!”
Note that “Mindanao,” a drama about a wife (Judy Ann) of a soldier (Allen Dizon) taking care of a dying child (Yuna Tangog), also dominated the Luna Awards with six plums.
Note it has been selected as the Philippines entry to the Best International Feature Film Category of the 93rd Oscar Awards in the US.
