Famous sports personalities like star Alyssa Valdez and the Ravena family will be guests in the next installments of the online program, The Goal Digger PH.

Valdez will be featured in their March 15 segment while the Ravenas will be shown on April 15 to tackle their life journeys as athletes.

The Goal Digger PH aims to channel “displaced energy from the sporting community” by featuring sports personalities in promoting life awareness in general.

It can be watched and heard on YouTube, Facebook and Spotify.

“Our program aims to give the right motivation and guidance especially during this time of pandemic,” said chief sports advocate and founder Robbie De Vera during the Philippine Sportswriters Association Online Forum yesterday.

“We believe in the power of transformation of sports to help create change. Our mission is to help empower Filipinos to realize their full potential,” co-host Rely San Agustin said.

The program has already featured prominent sports personalities in the past the include TV host and former volleyball player Gretchen Ho, Ateneo women’s volleyball coach Oliver Almadro, Philippine Rugby chief Ada Milby, UAAP executive director Rebo Saguisag, two-time world 10-ball champion Rubilen Amit, and 2016 Rio Olympics weightlifting silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz, among others.

Other than Valdez and the Ravenas, this season will feature sports parents and former athletes as they tackle their parenting journeys in raising life champions. Among the guests are former taekwondo standouts Japoy and Janice Lizardo on April 10, Vince and Patricia Hizon on April 24, runner Rio dela Cruz and wife Nicole on May 1, and the Gomez De Liano family on May 8.

“This is like a throwback to our roots on football. We want to dig in and persevere and have that platform in empowering Filipinos,” said cofounder Simone Jaldon.
