Sharon Cuneta hits fellow actors spreading false info

- By NEIL PATRICK NEPOMUCENO

Megastar Sharon Cuneta is not happy, knowing that as early as now, politicians are directly or indirectly using some celebrities to spread their propaganda and political campaign posts.

These alleged politically-active stars were identified by an online news website in a recent article.

In an online interview with the press recently, Sharon opened up about the matter: “Ikinahihiya ko sila, noong kalakasan ko noong araw, may tatakbo kunwaring presidente, o-offer-an ka ng milyon-milyon para sila endorsohin mo. Never akong nagpabayad. Lagi akong, ‘I’d rather go with this one kahit matalo kasi ’yong prinsipyo, ganyan-ganyan, or whatever my beliefs were, [na] pumapantay.’”

The megastar went on to explain how she might have doubled her earnings if she accepted those endorsements. But she has no regrets that she followed her conscience and not the call of money.

“Alam kong mahirap ang buhay pero when does it stop? When does the moral high ground come in? Do you even have it? Do you even know it?” Sharon asked. “Kasi hindi hamak na mas rerespetuhin ko kung sa totoong tao na tapat sa ginagawa kesa doon sa pasimple kang nagpapabayad para mag-spread ka ng peke.”

“Ginagamit mo ’yong impluwensiya mo sa maling paraan o para kumita. It’s despicable to me. It’s unacceptable to me. Kinahihiya ko na sa sabihing kasama ko sila sa industriya,” she ended.

Sharon, 55, will star on Viva Films’ “Revirginized” alongside Rosanna Roces.

This will be Sharon’s first movie under Viva Films after 19 years. Her last one being the film “Magkapatid” alongside Judy Ann Santos, Christopher De Leon, and Dingdong Dantes in 2002.
