All systems go for state-of-the-art Ospital ng Makati 2 after SP approval
Makati City Mayor Abby Binay announced on Thursday, March 4, that it's all systems go for the construction of the Ospital ng Makati 2 (OsMak 2) after the Makati City government and LifeNurture, Inc. inked a PrivatePublic Partnership (PPP) agreement.
The agreement was forged after the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) of Makati approved City Ordinance No. 2021-021 authorizing the mayor to sign a PPP agreement with LifeNurture, Inc. for the construction, operation, and management of OsMak 2.
“I thank the 13 councilors who voted yes to the ordinance and made way for a more modern OsMak to serve our residents,” Binay said.
Binay added that once fully operational, the new hospital will improve access of her constituents, particularly in the first district, to modern healthcare services and facilities.
“Our Makatizens from the first district will no longer need to travel to the second district to avail themselves of medical and diagnostic services being subsidized by the city government,” she said.
The PPP also assures that the city government will not spend for OsMak 2's construction, operations, and redevelopment.
Binay said that OsMak 2 will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that include a Cancer Center with a linear accelerator for radiation treatment; a Cardiac Center with a cardiac catherization lab for angiography, open heart surgery, and organ transplantation surgeries; and a Physical Rehabilitation Medical Center that will use robotics in treating joint and soft tissue ailments.
The hospital will also feature a hybrid operating room that combines diagnostic imaging and surgical theater in one room to effectively manage complex surgeries.
OsMak 2 will also have a certified heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system for a clean, germ-free environment.
LIfeNurture President Dr. Dennis Sta. Ana said that its vision for Osmak 2 is fully aligned with Mayor Abby’s belief that “an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.”
The hospital will have a modern Wellness Center that will provide comprehensive examinations towards prevention or early detection of serious diseases.
