MRT-3, LRT-2 to give free rides to women on March 8

The Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) will be giving free rides to female passengers today, March 8, in celebration of International Women’s Day.

This was announced by the MRT-3 management on its Facebook account yesterday.

The free ride windows for women will be from 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

The "purple line" or the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2), which runs from Recto in Manila to Santolan in Marikina City, will also give free rides to women today during the same hours.

"Mabuhay ang mga kababaihan! Ingat po sa byahe! #NationalWomensMonth (Long live women! Have a safe ride)," it read.

MRT-3 or the "blue line" stretches from North Avenue in Quezon City to Taft Avenue in Pasay City.
